[PD] open multiple files limits?

2024-01-11 Thread Remmy Canedo
Hello,

I'm trying to open 189 files with

[bang(
|
[openpanel 2]

file names are 1.wav, 2.wav, 3.wav... 189.wav with different sizes from 48,2 to
343,5 KiB

when I use short paths, like home/user/Music/test_samples I'm able to open 112
files
with long paths, for ex:
home/user/FOLDER_1/Folder_002/Folder_3/folder_4/folder_5/test_samples I can
only open 53 files max.
more than that, it gives me an error in console:
av: no such object

If anyone can explain why this happens and how to overcome these limits I would
be very grateful.

thanks in advance!
remmy

[PD] Gem cylinder stack overflow

2021-08-23 Thread Remmy Canedo
Hi list,

When I open the 'Gem/examples/13.recursion/03.recursive_spiral.pd' patch, turn
on rendering and change the [circle] to a [cylinder], I get the following
message:

GL[1283]: stack overflow

What does it mean? Is it me or something concerning gem or openlg?

Other geos don't throw any message.

best,
Remmy

[PD] Pd + Jack with non-standard period

2020-11-19 Thread Remmy Canedo

Hi,

got a new dell 13 5301. It comes with a sof-hda-dsp card. After installing
Ubuntu 20.04, Qjackctl was not working. I found a solution here:
https://www.mail-archive.com/ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com/msg5830075.html
Qjackctl started fine with sr 48000 and period 1008 and I have clean sound from
vlc, audacity, ardour, etc but Pd 0.50.2 is constantly crackling.
I tried pd -jack in terminal and there's a "Partial read" message constantly
appearing. With callbacks the message turn into "jack: nframes 1008 not a
multiple of blocksize 64"
Then I tried pd -jack -blocksize 252 (also 504, 1008) but the problem
continues. Probably I'm missing something, so any help to fix this will be
appreciated.

best, rc.
