Am I imagining it, or am I getting less dropouts during file loads?

The dmg and app naming looks like a temp name, I assume from the nightly build 
system? The app probably just needs to be renamed before assembling the dmg...

Best solution is probably to make a signed tag with the desired version 
string before building.


for a repository that is exactly at a signed tag (1.0), I get:

$ git describe
1.0

for a repository that is some commits after a signed tag (0), I get:

$ git describe
0-409-g8f1f7da

for a repository that has some signed tags (v1.62) and some (newer) 
unsigned tags (v1.88), compare:


$ git describe
v1.62-2505-ge99c4fc6

$ git describe --tags
v1.88-22-ge99c4fc6

I'm noticing that pasting text into object boxes or comments produces an
extra trailing whitespace character. This happens on both 0.53-0test1 and
test2, and I'm running it on macOS 12.6 Monterey with M1 hardware. This
doesn't happen for me with 0.52-2. Minor detail, but worth fixing if it's
easy.

Yep, I downloaded it yesterday, and it also unzips to a dmg (a mac disk image), 
and the binary is named Pd-0.53-0test1-80-g20334410.

This contains more bug fixes and documentation updates.

Iohannes is still working on an update to teh string translation
mechanism; I'm planning to incorporate that into the final release,
hopefully early next week.
