running DependencyWalker gives a lot of yellow warnings and a red one in the

and in the log window:

attached are 2 png's which show 2 items i think could be causing the problem:
-msvcrt.dll which appears to generate one or both of the above mentioned errors.
-msvcr71.dll; in pd/bin exists msvcr90.dll.

any hints how to proceed?

Great to hear about your success.

Would be good though, if other Gem users on Windows 10 wouldn't have go
through those hoops in the future. Maybe you report that on the Gem-dev
mailing list, hoping that there is solution that will automatically
detect the dll at its original location.

Just in case nobody more knowledgeable chimes in. Pd found the

means that Gem.dll is dynamically linked to other libraries that can't

apart from that: iirc the Gem zip archive and the gem installer really
use the very same binaries. the big differences are:
- the installer knows (approx) where to put the files
- the installer lets you choose which components you (do not) want to

please start pd.com from the cmdline and use the "-verbose" flag to see

you might have to to raise the verbosity in the Pd-console as well, to
