I got this from The Online Photographer, it's a running e-bay auction, but I doubt that anyone will complain and if they do then tough. http://tinyurl.com/4rxn5p I was going to try to work this into a MasterCard riff but simaly just fails me... Item location Hong Kong? Google 'leica m5 prototype'. It's been up for sale before, apparently the same people. On the photo.net thread about it someone wrote in Jan Calling this the M5 prototype is a bit misleading[...]. This was a prototype for A METERED M camera - but it appears in most of the history books dated as an early 60's concept camera (note the external selenium meter), long before there was even an M4, let alone plans for an M5 per se. It doesn't look remotely like an M5, so I tend to agree with the above. The seller has a website here: http://arsenalphoto.com/ge/lmeng.asp. They say they have a lot of stuff which was formerly property of the Leitz Factory Museum, but to me it all smells strongly of fish. My recommendation is that you keep your credit card in your wallet, but send me 10% of the BIN price for my valuable advice. Re: OT - eBay knocked down a peg
I haven't bought any equipment from e-bay for ages. My first step when looking for equipment is KEH for a price check. Then I check e-bay and I set my limit at what KEH charges. Everything I have wanted has gone for more than KEH prices for longer than 3 months so I bought from KEH. I really must get around to selling some more things on e-bay though. As soon as Apple incorporates RAW processing support into the CoreImage frameworks, it is a system shared library so any application that uses the framework gets it automatically. Katz Eye question
Hi! I seem to have a problem/issue/strange thing with the K-E screen that I bought. It says (as I asked for it) that it has the optibrite treatment and all such. Now, if I mount that DA 21/3.2 I see that the bottom half circle in the center of the screen is slightly dark. If I mount FAJ 18-35/4.0-5.6 that bottom half becomes seriously dark. I can still use it somewhat for manual focusing but I am more concerned that like this it really intervenes with AF and AE. I am shooting wearing glasses all the time. What have I done wrong? When installing the screen I did not hear the clicking sound when I was locking the filter in place, but I felt that I was closing something very tightly. Also I noticed that the red light for the center AF point is just a bit lower that the center of the split screen circle... Concerned. Re: Six NYC pics on R-D1
Thomas Edison's labs were in New Jersey. They are proud of their electric wires! (That was a nice picture - also liked the tanker truck vs veritcal building ribs, very graphic.) Regards, Bob S. Cheers Doug. The wires really captured my attention as it's not something you see in the UK. Sure you see wires, but in the USA it seems that any old Joe can come along and add to the bird's nest without recourse to what's gone in before. PESO: Reminiscing
I know that I have been quiet from this list for quite a while. There are many reasons that have kept me from my PDML family. Those that know me can see that... Anyhow, I was sitting here, recalling some of my travels - I have not made a trip in quite a while - and this brought me back to my last travel to Roatan, Honduras. While visiting one of my websites, http://roatan2003.homestead.com/index.html, I looked at some of my photos. I thought about submitting them for your perusal... http://groups.msn.com/MyRugbyPictures/peso.msnw?action=ShowPhotoPhotoID=81 is a shot I took as a typical landscape during my visit to Roatan, Honduras. Also there is: http://groups.msn.com/MyRugbyPictures/peso.msnw?action=ShowPhotoPhotoID=82 as a shot of our almost daily gathering at Mono Loco. This day had a daily special of caparinhas, which I figured out I ended up visiting more often than any of the others of our squad. Finally there is: http://groups.msn.com/MyRugbyPictures/peso.msnw?action=ShowPhotoPhotoID=83 This was a shot as we headed back from 'paradise' to home. I have alwayss liked this shot since it brought back memories of this trip. I think that as photographers we tend to associate shots with events, time and memories. I almost need to have others look at my shots since it is hard to disassociate myself from the photo. Maybe I can spend more time on the list now, César P.S. I really missed being at NPW at GFMtn this year... -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
PESO: Kenosha Harbor Light
Here's a shot from sunset today up in Wisconsin. http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=7410100size=lg K20D with F70-210/4-5.6 1/200th @ f7.1 and ISO 200, zoomed to 70mm The 8GB memory card acted funky for a bit, but I was almost out of battery. I'll be testing it more tomorrow.
