What I don't understand is why one needs gmail to do this??

I can do all the above with my mail app called Powermail.

Do people not have this ability in their standard mail apps?

OT: A Modern Vision - Charles Bayliss, Photographer, 1850–1897

2008-07-18 Thread Brian Walters
Charles Bayliss was one of Australia's earliest photographers - all of
his work was carried out in second half of the 19th century. I confess
to never having heard of him until I saw a brief segment on television
on Friday about an exhibition of his work now showing at the National
Library of Australia in Canberra.

There is a small example of his work on the Library's website:

http://www.nla.gov.au/exhibitions/bayliss/index.html

It's worth a look even if you aren't able to visit Canberra while the
exhibition is running (it's on until 12 October). His paroramas of
Sydney (360 degree) and Stawell (180 degree) are inspiring, considering
that they were photographed in the 1870s.

The full catalogue of the exhibition can be downloaded from the website.

OT: For sale: Computer power Supply

2008-07-18 Thread William Robb
Hi, I happen to have a spare one of these:

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=18245&vpn=550100&manufacture=MUSHKIN

It is a 650 watt Mushkin.
It was installed in my new (last October) computer, so it hasn't seen a lot of
use.
It turned out to be about 50 watts short of feeding my computer's power
requirments.
I believe it is a very good one, and will amply power most any system.
I would prefer a Canadian buyer, but will ship anywhere once paid.
No reasonable offer refused, best reasonable offer gets it.
Buyer responsible for shipping and insurance at actual cost.

Please respond off list

Then he came to work, and discovered- you guessed it, patchbays.
He sucked it up, figured it out, and did a good job

useful since I can make the important point that you can never
completely trust ANY single source.

Current and historical academic literature and other first sources by

reputation for doing the background validation research on the articles
before publishing them, peer-reviewed journals from the field,
well-known and -established monographs, etc.

Not only that, I have been elevated to the position of Internet Tough Guy, been

To say "yes" to Bob Sullivan's ref to Tom Lehrer... who I first heard
in high school in the 50's when My H S drama teacher
played his first album which included "the Boy Scouts marching Song"
and "the old dope peddler" and "Rickety tickity tin"
he lampooned everything with great wit and style, though his voice was
not exactly what you would call a signing voice.
