However there is a 14MP version of the sensor with similar high ISO performance and capable of 7fps, THAT's what I'd like to see in an updated K-7 (it's currently used in Sony's A450 and A550, the K-X shares a sensor with the A500). My reply: I know that, as I've tested the Sony A550 last December. Yes, very good high-ISO performance, but not up to the K-x. So I'd like the Sony 12 MP sensor better, but the Sony 14.6 MP variation is quite acceptable too. Dario But the A550 and A500 perform nearly identically from everything I've seen and the A500 uses the K-X sensor, so I'd expect the A550 sensor to perform similarly to the K-X sensor when matched with Pentax's processing chain. The K-X's advantage over the A550 is primarily because Sony still hasn't figured out NR in the processing engine. Which makes me wonder if the Kx reduces noise at the expense of detail. It would be interesting to see a comparison of resolving power between the K7 and the Kx at ISO 800. Paul -Adam -- M. RE: PESO - the non-blizzard
From: Bob W For the last couple of weeks I've been coming home each day to voicemails sent every hour by Barclaycard (essentially Visa) wanting to speak to the people from whom I bought this house. Fifteen (yes, fifteen!) years ago! A few times I've picked up the phone to answer them and told the people on the other end that these people don't live here any more, and to stop calling this number. I might as well piss into the Pacific for all the difference it makes. I've even tried phoning the number they want the people to call, but it's a robot with a menu that never leads to a human. Their website doesn't want anyone to contact them unless they're an account holder, which I'm not. Earlier today I found a very well-hidden Contact Us link on their site which doesn't require me to hold an account with them before I can get in touch, so I've sent them an email. Following that I went out to play squash, only to come home 30 minutes ago to another 2 robot calls from these f_ckwitted bell-ends and an auto-response to my email telling me that they're too busy to get in touch and to wait for a few days. Sounds like the kind of problem you should be able to refer to the state's Attorney General's Office or whatever equivalent y'all have over there. MOST of the time just keep pressing zero no matter what choices are offered from the menu and eventually the machine will give up and transfer you to a real live person. Sometimes that person is even in the same country you're in. Alternatively, just wander into the nearest Barclay's Branch office and offer to rip the manager a new asshole (arsehole?) if he doesn't get it sorted out toot sweet. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
