Anyway, yes to both questions. Doug's here and is doing very well. He

K7 AC power supply in a K3?

2015-05-29 Thread Barry Rice
Hey Guys,

Tomorrow I'm going to be doing a long term video shoot. I have an AC adapter
(D-AC50) for my K7. This supplies 8.3V, 2A. Meanwhile, my K3 requires the
same voltage, amperage. The plug is compatible with both. Is it safe to use
this on my K3? The K3 power supply does have a different model number, but
again, supplies 8.3V, 2A

Cheers

Re: PESO: John Deere Model D Steel Wheel on the Prairie

2015-05-29 Thread Darren Addy
Thanks for those who looked/commented. I appreciate Ken's thoughts on
the trees on the left as well.
I really don't think the trees at the left add or subtract,
personally. I suppose the reason they are left in is that to crop them
out and still keep the 3:2 aspect ratio would have meant either
cutting off the bottom part of the big tractor wheel or losing some
sky and I wanted to do neither.
:)

The church in the right was leaning horribly, due to the 10mm focal
length, but the Free Transform tool in Photoshop is a wonderful thing
that I have only started to learn how to use correctly.

Very nice capture Darren, the subject (tractor, church & line of the road
and horizon) and composition are wondeful, but the inclusion of the group of
trees on the LH edge, set limits on the image and stops my eye from
continuing off to the horizon & serves no good purpose IMO. The directional
line of the road, horizon and the general heading of the tractor are in
agreement as if the tractor is heading off into the sunset or that great
barn in the sky.

Very nice. With the b/w rendering it may have been taken 75 years ago.
When I was a kid many farmers were still using these old tractors and
paved, rural roads had signage stating "Tractors with lugs prohibited".

Re: Good night all. Next post will be from North Carolina.

2015-05-29 Thread Mark Roberts
So I arrived at Grandfather Mountain
 yesterday after some drama. I
left Ashe county and drove to Footsloggers, a great hiking store in
Boone, NC. After picking up some supplies there I got on the road again
and then, just a dozen or so miles from GFM, my car died. It just shut
down the engine and displayed some indecipherable symbols on the dash.
Luckily, I was just half a mile from the Toyota dealer in Boone. Even
more happily, an employee of Wendy's in whose parking lot my car came to
rest gave me a lift to the Toyota dealer. I had the car towed there and
the nice folks of Modern Toyota took pity on an out-of-towner and looked
at the car right away. Turns out the mass air sensor in the fuel
injection system had failed. They had me on my way in less than three
hours. OK, it cost four hundred dollars, but they could have charged me
pretty much anything they wanted (and presumably they knew it!)

Met Doug Brewer and several other members of the crew. Went out for
dinner and called it a night early. Thunderstorms precluded my
traditional night out on the mountain so I stayed in the guest cottage.

I spent this morning slowly driving into the town of Blowing Rock,
stopping every quarter of a mile or so to photograph streams and
waterfalls that were flowing nicely from last night's rain.

Neat set Chris. I had to google Wayland's Smithy. Very interesting stuff.

due to the yellow/brown background.

But all in all another very nice book. I like the postcard theme ...
