mirrorless with a 50mm lens is just such a burden! You go, Jack!

The lens appears (to me anyway) to have considerable spherical
aberration, like a soft focus portrait lens. I wonder if that was
intentional?

It has a ton of aberration. X-rays have so short wavelengths they are
difficult do bend at all, so any lens designed to do that will bend
visible wavelengths overmuch. So intentional by the makers of the lens,
but I have to just take what comes with the package.

I didn't know that any Xray machines have glass lenses; I know that
medical Xray machines use apertures and collimators to direct the

I think this lens is for the receiving end of the x-rays, before they
hit the film.

An almost-existential question: If there's no sharp focus, can there be bokeh?

It's like wine. To begin with, you appreciate its bouquet. After a
bottle or two, you appreciate the world's general bokeh. There's no need
for any part of your mind to be particularly focused. :-)

LOL! Yep.

Amazing colour and as you say bokeh.

Colours behave differently with this lens. Actually I had to reduce
saturation after adjusting contrast.

That's gorgeous, Jostein.

The lens appears (to me anyway) to have considerable spherical
aberration, like a soft focus portrait lens. I wonder if that was
intentional?

Re: PESO: Ted, White and Blue

2017-08-13 Thread Daniel J. Matyola
It was certainly larger than the normal teardrop shaped balloons used for
traveling across the surface or ascending to altitude, but some of the
other "fancy" balloons, like the Barn, are about the size of the flag.

The owner/operator of the flag balloon dreamed of a balloon of the nature
decades ago. In the aftermath of 9/11, however, it became feasible to
raise the $150,000 needed to complete the design and construct it.

BTW, Paul, why is your email address "pentax1941"? You certainly can't be
that old.
