Not to mention my upcoming critique of Oolon Calluphid's "Where God went wrong"

Well it seems Ricoh is still supporting Pentax APS=C for the time being.

2019-03-06 Thread P. J. Alling
The new 11-18mm f2.8 DA* seems to have hit the store shelves looks like
a pretty nice lens too.  It's priced above the level where my nose
starts bleed unfortunately.  Now if only they release the K3 II
successor that keeps being promised.

It is with a heavy heart that I must say I cannot afford this lens,
really mean that.  I hope you find it a good home.

The PK/A has two strikes against it. It is probably the rarest mount

cost you more than the Vivitar Series 1 version of the Bokina (which
is also MUCH heavier) but similar in optical qualities.

I discovered that it was also an outstanding Astrophotography lens

My no-dicker bottom dollar on this lens is $650, which includes free

Mike blames Adobe for everything.

Haven't you read the fascinating piece he wrote for History Today entitled
"Metternich, Talleyrand and Adobe: Overlooked Causes of the First World War".

No less fascinating is his analysis in The Modern Medievalist of Adobe's role
in the rapid spread of the Black Death in the 1400s.

The latter would be far more work but may be the only way to have full access

I sometimes have to resort to DIY to get just what I want. I had to make my own

Read about it here, and see a picture of Sharbat Gula (that's her name)
in public, in the presence of a man who is not her husband while not
wearing a burka.

The article published on digg.com is very close to 100% bullshit. About
all they got right is that Steve McCurry was the photographer.

I was trying to be kind.

I have no such compulsion.

Given that all our sources are at least secondhand, it is possibly
true but everything I have read about society in Afghanistan and the two
photographic incidents totally contradicts the story. Even a cursory
riffle through sources should have flagged up the ludicrousness of it.
Maybe it's an early April fool?

I'm getting tired of this compulsion people seem to have to come up with
their own false narratives with no supporting evidence.
I suppose since it's a false narrative there can be no supporting
evidence, so let's just call it what it is, which is a lie.
