Re: OT IG handles
Larry it's definitely a pain to share pics that don't originate from the phone cam or the app directly, they really don't want desktop access so that's why most solutions end up failing, not quite sure of the rationale there. That said I don't find it too onerous, I just have an IG folder in Dropbox which I pre-load from my desktop then export to IG from the DB phone app. On Mon, 2 Dec 2019 at 10:38, Larry Colen wrote: > > I set up an instagram account because people kept asking me about one, it > took a fair bit of work to get so that I could post my work there, and then > facebook broke things so that you cannot post to either facebook or instagram > from lightroom so f-them. > > But, here is what went up before they broke stuff > https://www.instagram.com/redforestphoto/ > > > > On Dec 1, 2019, at 2:44 PM, Rob Studdert wrote: > > > > I post pics on IG fairly regularly (even though the exposure > > algorithms are shite now) and to date I think I I'm connected to Doug, > > Mark, Bob, Godfrey and a couple of others here, is there anyone else > > that has an IG account or two to share? > > > > These are my feeds: > > > > Studio/live performance https://www.instagram.com/rob.distudio/ > > Landscape https://www.instagram.com/robscapes/ > > Mobile snaps https://www.instagram.com/robstuddert/ > > > > Cheers, > > > > -- > > Rob Studdert (Digital Image Studio) > > Tel: +61-418-166-870 UTC +10 Hours > > > > -- > > PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List > > PDML@pdml.net > > http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net > > to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and > > follow the directions. > > > > -- > Larry Colen > l...@red4est.com > > > > > -- > PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List > PDML@pdml.net > http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net > to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow > the directions. -- Rob Studdert (Digital Image Studio) Tel: +61-418-166-870 UTC +10 Hours -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

I looked ultra hard in all these pics, and they're all full of lovely flowers and stuff, but couldn't find a single nekkid lady I just nabbed a Nikkor 80-200mm/2.8 AF ED lens from eekbay for 260 quid. It's in great nick so am well pleased. Now it gets sent off to a bloke who takes off the mount, de-clicks the manual aperture ring and damps its motion, and attaches a Canon EF mount ! I had it done to a Nikkor 17-35/2.8 a few years ago and it's terrific on video. It will join the arsenal of that and a Canon EF 24-105/4 with the C300 camera I use a lot for broadcast. Impressive glass, to be sure. And crucially the manual aperture which is what i need. The 24-105 doesn't have it, the iris is controlled with a thumbwheel in 1/3rd stop increments which is rubbish. If I could find a decent wide lens in that range with manual aperture i would have it. The saving grace is the 24-105 has IS which is superb, so can't gripe too much. The 80-200 will only be used on the sticks. Nice shots mate - keep up the good work! -- Cheers, Cotty ___/\__UK Shoot / Edit and || (O) |Live Broadcast News -- _ -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
Re: GESO Leura Gardens Festival 2019
What a lovely collection! Especially appealing to me now because it is dreary and damp here with snow due tomorrow...:-) I missed this on FB - Don't remember if I simply missed it or there was some technical problem - or I sw only one shot. If you used the "story" feature on FB then I couldn't even look at it. In these, I'm enjoying the frames that are not tight closeups particularly - the patterns the varied plants and walkways are making. ann On 12/1/2019 5:35 PM, Rob Studdert wrote: Hi Guys, I don't get much time to pop in here these days, I'm still shooting Pentax regularly but most of my work is done using Nikon gear these days. I set up an instagram account because people kept asking me about one, it took a fair bit of work to get so that I could post my work there, and then facebook broke things so that you cannot post to either facebook or instagram from lightroom so f-them. Re: GESO Leura Gardens Festival 2019
Rob, I really enjoyed these. We have rain and sleet this evening, as winter approaches. It’s so nice to see flowering trees and shrubs (I have a particular weakness for dogwoods). Re: GESO: A couple of birds
Yeah, I just scrolled right from the foam frog nest. Your Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) looks very much like our Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias) ... and looking them up it appears they form a "superspecies" along with the Cocoi Heron (Ardea Cocoi) of South America. Cool. I learned something. Nice image BTW. Re: What are the advantages of ransomware Lightroom? Also copying off an external drive
I'm late to the party but I'll chime in, much like Doug my income is highly variable these days (photography being what it is) but still I value the work-flow inherent in LR enough to submit to their ransom-ware tactics (which I loathe). I stay within LR for most of my edits if possible and venture out to PS only when absolutely necessary, all my images are accessible via a single catalogue (as I am regularly required to delve into past shoots) and it's currently sitting at just shy of 600k images without a hitch. In the last year I've also been running an Xtouch Mini MIDI mixer via MIDI2LR to facilitate direct control of my major adjustments and image selection and this has significantly increased the pace of my work-flow when managing larger shoots. GESO: A couple of birds
The recent heavy rains have had a dramatic effect on Kruger. With so many perennial pools now available, the game has dispersed and the Mopane tree scrub is so dense you wouldn't see an Ellie at 20m! I felt sorry for all those tourists who paid good money for game drives this morning. Of course, Sable dam is overfull once more. The bird hide was flooded (still closed) & some overnight visitors had a harrowing experience with cars damaged to boot. Here are a couple of shots of birds on the berme in front of the bird hide: (Scroll for the other) https://www.flickr.com/photos/wisselstroom/49150679311/ K5 & HD 55-300 Alan C -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
PESO: Foam Nest
Foam nest frogs breed over perennial pools at the beginning of the rainy season. The tadpoles survive in the foam for a few days before dropping into the water below. Go here: http://frogmap.adu.org.za/Species_text.php?sp=470 if you would like some facts. This shot was taken in Kruger early this morning at such a pool on the edge of the Phalaborwa-Letaba road where these frogs breed every year. https://www.flickr.com/photos/wisselstroom/49150679311/ K5 & HD 55-300 Alan C -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
