Thanks, Paul. They’re petunias and cherry tomatoes, respectively.

Thanks Paul. Last night was quite and adventure, totally clouded over here, I
drove almost an hour inland, the first place I stopped to try, the sky was
fairly clear, except right in front of the comet. Someone stopped to see if I
was alright, we chatted and she gave me some suggestions. I gave her my card
in case she wanted to see the photos since we'd been talking about them.

Much later I found a voicemail from her saying that the skies were a lot
clearer back in the direction I had had come. I tried from a couple of spots,
and finally found the place of this PESO after the comet had sunk into the
muck, just before it dropped below the mountains.

A couple slideshows I made of it setting are here:

technically, the slideshows are rather rough, but still kind of fun.

In the ongoing series of my stupid mistakes, when the K-1 died and I put my
Rokinon 24/1.4 on the K-3 II, I neglected to reset the focal length from 135 to
24, so astrotracer made all of the photos with that lens worse rather than
better. Oops.

I have a Nikon Coolpix camera with a flip out/up view screen, and while I’ve
used the feature a few times it would not be a deal killer if a camera I was

Here's my attempt from a couple of nights ago (it was cloudy in that

London light pollution I couldn't see it with the naked eye, only with
binoculars or on the camera's LCD after taking the photo.

Finally found them just as the comet was aiming into the muck.
