I liked th Fort Worth zoo quite a lot - but that was way way back in
1985 - at that point I was not aware of a Dallas Zoo.. I thought the
Fort Worth
one was one in the same.. I was visiting friends in Dallas on my drive
home from Houston after my mom passed away.

Ann, this was at Franklin Drive Thru Safari. It is a small-ish one,
near a small town of Franklin, just 40-some-minutes drive from us.
It is one of very few relatively safe activities during the hot and
long Texas summer.

We've been at FW zoo (as well as Dallas and Houston ones) - but it's
been a while ago. I am thinking that of those "traditional zoos, I
liked the one in Dallas the most.

RE: Vintage Enlarger

2020-10-23 Thread jcoyle
I signed up with Freecycle on Tuesday, and on Thursday someone posted they were
interested in old computer gear: today I
will unload a pile of both working and non-working items including original
manuals, cables etc - everything computer
bods collect over many years, and never throw away in case we might need it.
So, having decided I'll never, for
example, need a parallel interface cable again, out it goes!
Free, they collect, and it goes to someone who is interested, so not to
landfill - can't get better than that.

GESO : Signs Gone By Calendar

2020-10-23 Thread ann sanfedele
Some of you have the book..  the calendar has selections from it and a
couple of photos in the same vein but not in the book.
It is actually easier to look at the cover and all twelve photos here
than on my gallery on smugmug so while it would be
great if some bought the calendar , just really wanted to show you the
work..

https://www.createphotocalendars.com/Store/Signs+Gone+By++Wall+Calendar-2285411141

BTW .. the gas station here , The truck stop in Vega, Texas that I
photoed in 1987 is the same one that Ed Ruscha photo'ed sometime
before 1962.  and is in his book, Twenty-SIx Gas Stations. published
back then.  I only discovered that within the past ten years or so

I didn't think I was going to make a calendar this year at all -
couldn't make up my mind and it was getting harder and harder to go
through the

slides for old stuff.. but these photose were already in digital form.
