Re: PESO: Roots
Very nice shots, especially the second one. The creepy tentacle-like roots and the colorful leaves make these seem especially appropriate for Halloween. GESO (7) - Pre-Halloween Neighborhood Walk
I took my camera for a stroll through our neighborhood last weekend. These are the pics that survived the cut: https://rickwomer.smugmug.com/2020/Neighborhood-2020/Pre-Halloween-Walk/ (All with the usual K-5 / DA 17-70) Plaudits, brickbats, and comments always welcome! There doesn't seem to be a common English word for it.. juthest called Cladonia or LIchen (unspecified) I would have named it green cup lichen. The lichen I know that is somewhat similar is what we call British soldiers it has little red caps rather than cups on top. it is /cladonia cristatella - / ann On 10/30/2020 2:48 AM, Toine wrote: Thats lichen, Cladonia fimbriata. Re: PESO: Roots
The Cladonia are generically (groan) referred to as Reindeer or cup mosses. There isn't a specific (stop!) name for any of them that I know. > On 30 October 2020 at 06:48 Toine wrote: > > > Thats lichen, Cladonia fimbriata. Re: 'Why I still shoot with Pentax'
Tjee, I didn't know the KP has no IR remote control! Most Pentax SLR's have it. I use this all of the time with my K-1 on tripod and of course in particular when focus stacking of mushrooms pics in this time of the year. I bought another 10 euro Chinese shutter control because I always have troubles finding that small Pentax one in my pockets. Henk Op 2020-10-30 om 07:55 schreef Toine: My KP has wifi for remote they even dumped the infrared remote in favour of wifi. I never used wifi in the field. The android app of Pentax also sucks to make it even worse. For studio or tabletop work I would prefer tethered shooting which isnt available on the KP. The KP has a tilt screen and the main reason I got it. On Thu, 29 Oct 2020, 23:30 Ralf R Radermacher, wrote: Am 29.10.20 um 23:14 schrieb John Francis: We can't be sure of that just yet. We already have Wifi with the Pentax O-something SD-card. The trouble is that all these Wifi and Bluetooth links only have a reach of 5 or 6 meters at best. And not only with the K-3 but also with my Rico Theta V and my Zoom H3-VR audio recorder. I had high hopes and already saw myself taking photographs or making audio recordings from the comfort of my car. No chance. Ralf -- Ralf R. Thats lichen, Cladonia fimbriata. We call it bekermos because it looks like a grail or cup. I can't find the english name.
