PESOs still live in redwood grove

Once I started paying attention I realized that mushrooms had been sprouting 
all over my yard like, well they were popping up like something.
Unfortunately I didn’t start paying attention until after most of them were 
past their prime.

I rather liked this scene:

I looked at a map - about a 50km drive along the river? Rather bleak at 
this time of the year. Must be magic in Spring. No safe walks like that 
around here. Kruger is our solitude but we have to stay in the car.

I'm always amazed at how everyone got all dressed up in that era, through
the 1950s.  Today, t-shirts, shorts, and sandals are accepted in church and
at the opera, as well as on the streets.

I agree: Nineteenth century photos are charming. Of course what doesn’t 
register is the raw sewage coursing through the streets, the mountains of horse 
dung and the accompanying smells and health issues. Those times make for a 
pretty picture but life was difficult.
