PESO: Kwanzan Cherry

2022-04-26 Thread Daniel J. Matyola
The Kwanzan Cherry tree in our back yard is finally in bloom. Not as
impressive as Paul's Snowfountain Cherry, but a cheerful and welcome icon
of spring:

Very nice, Dan. Does your yard border on a bush area beyond that fence?

Re: PESO: Kwanzan Cherry

2022-04-26 Thread Daniel J. Matyola
Thanks, Alan!

The lots in our neighborhood are all one acre in size, except for the 17
acres of municipally owned open space to the west of our property. The
area behind the cherry tree in my image is my neighbor's backyard. He has
a formal Japanese Garden near his house, but leaves the rear portion
"natural," or I guess what you would call "bush area." It is mostly
cedars and wild grasses, with a few scattered hardwoods, and it
connects with other undeveloped backyards leading to a nearby brook. Nice
habitat for birds, squirrels, deer and occasionally the local fox.
