Pentax 18-250 - stuck in the "locked" zoomed out position

2022-06-14 Thread Igor PDML-StR

Hi All!

I have Pentax 18-250 lens - the one designed with (by) Tamron, - the
earlier version of it. Suddenly, I cannot zoom in with it, - it is stuck
in the shortest focal length position.
This lens has a "lock" - to prevent it from extending accidentally (under
its own weight). I wonder if something happened inside this lock, and the
top piece is not engaged with the inner part of the locking mechanism.

Has anybody experienced this?
Has anybody seen a drawing of this lock's design?
Any suggestions on how to get it "unstuck"?

I had that. Known issue. Pentax EU HQ in Germany fixed mine free of charge.
I know the son of their retired head of service. I can try to ask.
Cheers

Thank you! If it is not a big problem for you to ask about the culprit
(see below), - I'd appreciate.

I've found this "recipe" and tempted to try it:
http://usefulbulk.com/pentaxlens/

I wonder how "universal" the solution (and the culprit) discussed there.

I am also thinking how to deal with the rubber grip (Is it glued? What
would I do if it breaks?)

All suggestions are appreciated.

BTW, my FA 77/1.8 Ltd 's focus also got stuck on the same day.
Outbreak of Lensovid-22? ;-)

GESO (6) - Chinatown

2022-06-14 Thread Rick Womer
Our walk through Center City ended in Chinatown, a few blocks east of City
Hall. The third one is my favorite; with some Lightroom work the grafitti
became art.
