The model is looking away in #2. And her curves are not exploited. The curves in the 1st shot make it much more sensual and appealing. That is, the line of her hips in the 1st shot visible on either side in the back. The pose is more engaged as well. Regards, ?Bob S. It was something in between in fact :) We started with static poses and it went quite well. But here asked Stef to start moving - she was not dancing, but rather pose. Legs and feet were almost static. Hands were moving, hips were also moving slightly. This way we added some extra life to the shot. --Sasha Either is perferctly fine, it's just my curiousity. If you are curious to find out why I am asking: It follows multiple discussions on relation between the dance and photography that I've had over the last few years, certain aspects that I've learned and figured out. The big caveat is that now, I am trying to extrapolate it to a very different dance. With that, my educated guess is that she was not dancing when this shot was taken At most, she may have beem moving specifically into that pose, but more likely than not, she was not moving, but just posing in a static pose. Now, I am curious to see if my guess was correct.o Cheers, Igor On 11-09-14 1:50 AM, Sasha Sobol wrote: Comments are very welcome. https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/dM57FDPp4MiAe1OmIOcyEFqTO0pzBLUsAIQ-VSzvgHs?feat=directlink --Sasha -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

For various reasons I decided not to shoot with flash, but just go with available light. The musicians would nod their heads fast enough that I kept having to boost the ISO to get a fast enough shutter speed, and ended up shooting at ISO 20,00. The thing that impresses me the most isn't the lack of noise, but the quality of the noise. With my K20 the noise was mostly blue, which just looked bad. With the K-5 even when the noise is really obvious, it looks almost like one of those paintings that are done with making little dots. Stippling? Impressionistic? Mind you, for ISO 20,000, the noise is pretty freaking amazing. The thing that I notice more than the noise in some shots is the dynamic range, when there are bright lights in the background, posterization abounds. In some cases I get this weird halo effect around the people, I suspect that it might have something to do with the out of focus blur bringing the bright lights in the background out of clipping and into color. pictures at: http://www.flickriver.com/photos/ellarsee/sets/72157626511238830/ or: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/sets/72157626511238830/ -- Larry Colen l...@red4est.com sent from i4est -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- Larry Colen l...@red4est.com sent from i4est -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Yet I think this is the strongest image of the series.
