John, I've used ME Super, MZ-6, *istD, a little bit MZ-S and PZ-1 and I find K10D to be the quietest shutter among all of the above. Mine definitely has a deeper more cavenous sound, to me it seems more intrusive than the *ist D, I first noticed it shooting at 1/100 sec, maybe I'm hearing SR doing it's job at the same time. Don't get me wrong it doesn't have the slap of a KX or anything near it, but I find it distracting. *ist D Oh so quiet!
A minor point, but I had to use the *ist D to shoot some products for my other half yesterday and noticed just how quiet the shutter/mirror were in comparison to the K10D, anyone else noticed? John, I've used ME Super, MZ-6, *istD, a little bit MZ-S and PZ-1 and I find K10D to be the quietest shutter among all of the above.
