RE: 200 ISO on istD
Funny you should mention this. Is the *ist D the only Pentax SLR to have a 'frame counter' in the viewfinder? I know that it is one thing that I find lacking whenever I am shooting finish line photos. DPreview could save us a lot of list traffic, you're absolutely right. I don't even remember who asked the original question about ISO in this thread, and I'm too lazy to look it up in the archives at www.pdml.net too. :-) Cheers, Jostein Currently AutoPug-ilising

So Wendy and Tom have responded that the Canons have lower ISO. How about Nikons? Fujis? Could this be a CMOS thing? Is there some technical reason for it? Lowest ISO on the 10D is 100. Re: 200 ISO on istD
The D1 is 200-1600.I'm pretty sure the D1x D1h and D100 are all the same 200-1600,but i read the D2h will go up to 3200 with custom settings. Does the *istD put a flag on the header that allows slide show software to detect a portrait mode shot and automatically change it on the screen instead of having to do it manually. I think Canon has a camera and the D2h is supposed to do this.It would be very helpfull to me anyway. Dave So Wendy and Tom have responded that the Canons have lower ISO. How about Nikons? Fujis? My guess has been that this is so Pentax can bring out constant aperture zoom lenses at f4 rather than f2.8, with no loss in performance. Just a guess. Joe
