50mm F4 SMCT as an enlarging lens?

2002-07-18 Thread J. C. O'Connell

Anyone ever tried using the
50mm F4 SMCT as an enlarging lens?
I've seen 39mm to 42mm adapting rings
which would allow the fitting, but
curious if its worth the effort??

I haven't tried that particular lens, but a friend tried to use her
Voightlander lens and got soft corners. With used Nikkors so cheap and
common (and good) I can't see any benefit.

As compared to what? What don't you like about it? (Besides the cheap
construction.) I like my Schneiders and Rodenstocks better, but think
the difference is minimal.
