Furries dress up as animals and pretend they are, plushies just do
unmentionable acts with stuffed animals.

And, now that its a family list, I'll stop giving ideas to the
impressionable youth of today. ;)

They're distinct. Plushies are Donald Duck, furries are just duck.

Hi tv,

I was going to write, but deleted before I sent in case I offended, not
knowing your position on it.

It is the single most crass wedding shot I have ever seen, but I'm sure
it will appeal to some!

Plus, the font stinks.

I like yours BTW, very cool.

Hi, Tom,

Well, for one thing, I don't like muppet-like things.

I find it too busy. Don't like the skewed angle. On it's own, I don't
like it. Compared to yours, I like it even less.

It's unusual, though. But, it's bad unusual, imho. I could have done
that... g

Sorry, the Ad (second ad with muppets) is brutal. I really liked Thomas' ad.
I wrote a long reason why I liked TV's ad but it never got through to the
PDML. So, in short, Sophisticated, creative come to mind. And not seeing the
bride's face allows all brides to imagine themselves in the picture. TV's ad
will attract a very sophisticated client who is not afraid to take some
chances to ensure her wedding photography is truly memorable.
I can't imagine why anyone would use the muppets picture in an ad.

Tom, your ad was graceful and well lit and evokes the feeling of the day.
This ad here is just ugly.

My apologies to those who actually do like it but that's my opinion.

Re: Add II

2002-12-29 Thread Cotty
Of course, the efficacy of the ad is determined by how many potential brides
it appeals to. When I saw Tom's ad, the first thing I thought was that there
are actually people out there who will say he cut off her head!

g

--Mike

This is food for thought. I sometimes think I am a bit naive. When I saw
the shot, it simply never occurred to me that her head was cut off at
all. It was only when pointed out that I looked again and thought, hmm,
yes, I guess that's one way of looking at it ( g fully acknowledged,
Mike ;-) but I missed it! Of course we all like to consider ourselves
astute and capable of examining things from many directions etc, and I am
no exception. I hate 'not' seeing something.

I think this perception is probably the most crucial part in defining our
subjectivity. (That sounds like I'm fulla crap - does it make sense?)

EG when I produce some prints I get a right earful from Her Indoors (a
photographer in her own right) on my cropping and print border trimming.
Yet, I can see these things in only one way, and that's my way.

Fulla something anyway,

Cotty
