Re: Amazon - no respect for Pentaxoids

2012-11-19 Thread Collin Brendemuehl
Am I correct that it's a manual focus lens?

BTW, down at the bottom, I found this:

http://www.amazon.com/Fotodiox-Pentax-K100D-K110D-K200D/dp/B003Y2WUIQ/ref=p
d_sim_e_6

About all I can afford right now, but they're the good caps with the
flange that covers the edge contacts on 'A' lenses later.

Hmmm. Looks more like an Oreo to me.

Results from cheap cookie-cutter design.

The ones Pentax made with the little flange seem to fit tighter than the
square ones they don't get knocked off as easily when the lens is
inside the camera bag as the latest press-to-fit ones do.

I don't know if these are as good as the Pentax originals or not, but
they caught my eye.

Amazon - no respect for Pentaxoids

2012-11-18 Thread Igor Roshchin

Today, Amazon has one of its pre-Black-Friday lightning deals:
Rokinon 85mm/1.4 lens.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006C1ILUC/
They offer these lenses at a discounted price ($239-269, depending on
the mount), but they offer only 3 mount options: Canon, Nikon
(AF-confirm), Nikon DSLR.

Pentax option is not on sale (nor Olympus or Sony)!

Boo, Amazon!
;-)

And you, fellow PDMLers, were complaining about brick-and-mortar stores..

Igor

PS. Interesting, that Nikon DSLR version was claimed within first ~10
minutes or so, while the rest were still at 15% Canon and 38% Nikon
(AF-confirmation) 35 minutes later.
However, I suspect much were fewer lenses available with Nikon DSLR option.

Larry,

You are looking at the regular price.
The Lightning deals are available if you click on
Countdown To Black FRiday Deals Week link on the first page.

Or, - choose Canon option from the same page, and click on the
right hand side- toward the top Gold Box deal.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox/ref=xs_gb_dtl_rtn_L_p#

For Canon, it is still available at $239.
