Re: Back from Dubya & Putin summit
Listen up, little fella. I have been quiet and quite behaved considering political discussions on the list for several years now. Nevertheless, your arrogance in believing that it is acceptable for YOU to pass vial characterizations of my President on to the list while (in an apparent attempt to look righteous to the list) say, "flames offlist please ", is... laughable. HA! That stupid little "" adds insult! Imagine! Only YOU are allowed this political crassness on the list! Some of us other folks (that would be those that would disagree with you) must reply to you off list so that a rebuttal voice is not heard! Now, except for our President's border policy with Mexico, I've not only supported everything he has done, I've been waiting for someone bold enough to do it for years. Therefore, if I understand you right, you have, in fact, called me... evil. Now it's personal. Congratulations on your diplomatic efforts to alienate the majority of voters in this country. Here's the rule. It's based on the old adage, "Turnabout is fair play." If you make the comment on list, you are showing, by example, what is acceptable to the list. Therefore... Thank you for this opportunity. Bob... Sometimes I regret the demise of the old Soviet Union. In those days, most folks had those Czech associated with the Czech press pretty well calibrated. From: "Frantisek" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Though, I still haven't made up my mind which one is more evil - Putin or Bush... (flames offlist please )

And I didn't mind the discomfort - it's what makes it more exciting when the photo moment comes ;-) - and I am still young enough. Although the summit isn't the best example, if one wants good pictures, he has to endure all sorts of discomforts. I wrote it just, well, to describe the situation - you are waiting for a long time for something which than takes just few minutes or seconds. And that still makes it exciting to me, with good talks afterwards... Good light! fra

Back from Dubya & Putin summit
Hi, short account of what I was doing last few days... yesterday night I arrived back home from the summit of Bush and Putin (RF's president, for anybody so uninformed to not know!), which took place for few days in Slovakia's capital Bratislava. I was one of the thousand or so accredited journalists. I am still a bit tired and sleepy :-( Security was high, weather was cold and snowing and waiting for the 'heads to show up (they took their time) at a photo opp was tedious. Pool access was very limited, which wasn't nice. Still, got some nice pictures, even managed to make few a bit different from the usual stuff, met friends... Photographing was somewhat difficult, 600mm equiv. was about enough (I got by with 2.8 zoom and TC), plus the snow and cold. After few hours of waiting for Dubbya to show up we were shaking so much that even the monopods didn't help for steady pics :) Those with IS/VR did so, I just had to up ISO. My cameras survived all that fortunately, with just one sad frame ruined by shutter intermittency. Service center is few streets from my flat fortunately, so off to there next week - they even clean the sensor for free ;-) Best was that Dubya didn't confuse Slovakia with Slovenia this time (although they apparently DID confuse Czech president with Slovak president in official whitehouse press release photograph!). Though, I still haven't made up my mind which one is more evil - Putin or Bush... (flames offlist please ) I will reselect some photographs to my personal gallery, see later. I see I have missed few heated debates on the list while I was gone ;-)
