Has anyone ever used this on NiMH rechargable batteries ?
I use the FG grip also. Pentax strongly advises in =not= using the NiMH batteries. I
use the Ray-O-Vac
alkalines in mine and have had absolutly zero problems.
I apreceate the voltage difference between a Alkaline and a NiMH but,
wouldnt an alkaline start to drop its voltage towards the end of its life
yet the camera still functions correctly.
I wrote an email to Pentax USA asking about the use of rechargable Alkalines in the
FG. There response is

Gary,
Thanks for contacting Pentax Corporation.
Although we have no official test data to present, the factory has deemed
the use of rechargeable alkaline batteries to be safe with the Battery Pack
FG. We have heard of no adverse affects in using these batteries.
We hope this helps. If you have any further questions, please feel free to
contact our Customer Service Department at (800) 877-0155.
Thanks again,

I know that using the NiMH or NiCad rechargeable
batteries can cause real problems
in electronic devices due to the voltage differences, but
was curious if Pentax has
done any testing using the Ray-o-Vac alkaline rechargeables
in the FG grip attached
to the ZX-5n body. Will this cause trouble, and if so, what
exactly can be damaged?
Thanks!
