I use a very wieldy Sigma 70~300 f4.0/5.6 Apo Macro Super. It's a 35mm lens of course. The only problem I have is shake in the absence of enough light. And of course it hunts, like any long auto-focus lens. I simply can't afford the newer DSLR Pentax lenses but all the SLR lenses I have perform very well on the *ist D. The auto-bellows A works as well. As does the Tokina Doubler. It is scheduled for summer 2008, according to the lens roadmap. That could mean August as well as June... :-) Ned Bunnell has been writing about the 17-70 in his blog, so it looks like that's coming through the pipelines before the 60-250.
