  Bob,

I really don't see RSX II 100 as a high saturation film. It may be
a bit more saturated than Provia 100F in the warm colors but
certainly lacks the punch of Velvia. On the contrary, the colours
look very natural and well balanced, it excels especially on the
skin rendering and control of highlights.

BW Have you found that it compares with Velvia in this regard?

Hi Bob,

thanks. Do they have an option for cut sleeve on the 35mm
E6, or is it just mounted?

As Steve Jolly has already replied, that option is available.

Why do you use someone different for your c41?

Late 2001/early 2002 I was going through many rolls of film and decided to
send them for development to various companies to see what I liked in terms
of cost and of course, importantly, quality. I found that I liked Dlab7 for
E6 and Transpacolor for C41 best.

I would also add that they aren't the quickest companies for turn around,
but far from the slowest I have used. This may be an issue for some, but not
for me as if I need immediate results I can use (assuming I can get it off
my wife) the *ist D. I am more than happy to wait for my film to arrive and
my favourite developers are no further away than the nearest post box!

In the3 past I only used them for Fuji Velvia, that was done OK.

7Dayshop has some great prices on Royal Supra film and pre-paid
 processing, which I assume goes to DLab7. A 20-roll pack with 20
prepaid dp vouchers gives you a total cost (excluding postage) of
£2.94 per roll, which is astonishingly cheap for the UK, and it's
 good film.

Agfa Precisa is also very cheap there - at only £4.40/roll incl.
processing (by Agfa, I assume) it's probably worth trying. I've never
used it before though and I don't want to commit to 10 rolls if it's a
 pile of dingo dung.

Could somebody who's used it please enlighten me? Compare and contrast
 with Kodachrome, if possible.

I started using Dlab7 a couple of years ago and they now do all my E6
processing. Great prices from them as they are based in Guernsey, so small
exports attract no dreaded VAT.

For C41, I use www.transpacolor.com

CT-100, my favorite slide film. Most of the folks on the list probably would not
like it. What I like about it is that it readers stuff about like I see it. Not
over saturated, not over contrasty. With good color accuracy. Like I said, I
think most of the folks here on the list would consider it too bland.

You might as well accept people as they are,
you are not going to be able to change them anyway.

Dlab7 do offer a cut and sleeve service for E6, at the same price as
mounted. I've only used them for c41 so far, and they've been uniformly
excellent at developing. The one set of prints I've had from them so
far they stuffed up by solarising them (see earlier comments on list),
but I'm happy to believe that's a one-off :-) No sign of the reprints yet.

I would hope so. Cut and sleeve is less expensive than mounted at my
lab.
