I’m pretty sure I’ve used that converter on my 600 FA.

Hopefully I’ll get aroundtoit later this weekend.

Ha! When you can pry it from my cold dead fingers!

The manual lists f4 as minimal for both phase and contrast af. The
600/4 should therefore work. Screwdrive AF can be slower.
If in doubt send the 600/4 to me. I'll run some extensive field tests
and report the results :)

Found a DA 1.4x converter. Tried converters before including the
famous 1.7 AF version and never satisfied until this DA version.
Combined with the DA300 I can't complain about anything. Tripod test
shots as sharp as can be, no additional CA or purple fringing. Let's
give it a try in the field, handheld...

I'm impressed and saved 2k on a future 150-450. Maybe someday some
serious birding...

I just took a quick look at it at B&H. It says "compatible with Pentax
KAF2 mount lenses on Select DSLR cameras." They've got it in stock
with a "Limited supply" at $$$.¢¢.

I'm guessing the K-1 is one of those select DSLRs, but is the FA-600/4
compatible?

I'm guessing yes, because it works on the K-1 without the rear
converter, but I'd like to *know* I'm not fooling myself before I'd
purchase one.
