They are the MX-5 everyplace, called the Miata in the States, the Eunos most
other places.

I've been playing around with British Sports Cars for close to 35 years,
racing and such for about 25 years. In this area, Miatas are considered
girls cars. Let me tell you, after decades of hanging out with car
oriented groups that are almost devoid of women, I *love* driving a
car that has a strong feminine demographic, and having an excuse to
chat up that cute girl getting gas for her sports car.

Re: GESO, new toy

I know, I know.

I think North America was the only place they were called Miatas. Everywhere
else they were always MX-5s (which latest gens are now called here).

And first generation Miatas were called girl cars here. Pretty cramped for the
average North American male and underpowered they were derided by power-hungry
macho types.

Otoh Road Track said it had perfectly balanced power and handling with the
best shifter ever on a road car.

Don't care what anyone else said, it was the Japanese perfecting the classic
British sports car.

Not terribly cramped. The trick is to take a bit of the foam out of the seat
cushion to lower
you in the seat.

As to underpowered, my MGB with a supercharger on it, boosting it's power by
50-60%
has about the horsepower of a 1600 miata with no catalytic converter.

Otoh Road Track said it had perfectly balanced power and handling with the

Don't care what anyone else said, it was the Japanese perfecting the classic

At some point I realized that if I did everything I wanted to my MGB,
I'd pretty much end up with a Miata.

I still want to get my MGB back on the road. Though what I really want is a
Sprite with the horsepower of a miata.

Though I'd settle for a Lotus Elan or Elise.

Scheib painted my MG a little over 10 years ago, it was closer to $300.

But, I have considered that as an option, or just getting some paint
and a preval and doing it myself, just to get it close to one color.
