Nice work there. The fireworks shot is spectacular but that pano is
something else. Really well done (and the sunset didn't hurt)

Cheers

Good stuff. Love the first pic of the spectators, game and sunset. A nice bit

Nice restraint on the amount of photos - liked reading the blog.

Handsome fireworks, but I like the two of the baseball watchers
Something appealing about that game in a smaller venue. Field of Dreamish.

Enjoyed it

John,
Good post, I enjoyed looking and reading.
The heart, rings, and bible are a nice idea - less light on the bible???

Thank you to everyone who looked. Thank you to everyone who looked and
commented.

The idea for the heart and rings came from trying to read during a power
outage. I noticed the patterns the flashlight made on the page.

I'm not sure if less light on the Bible would work or not, but it's
worth giving a try. Maybe the problem is the too dark surround. I don't
know.

I just know that what I've got so far is not working. I'm not getting an
image that clicks with what is in my head, so I've decided to put the
idea away for a while and let it ferment.

I'm really pleased with the way the panorama turned out.

Especially because it took so little work to assemble. I'm experimenting
with shooting RAW+JPEG, and I was able to take the 4 JPEGs straight from
the camera and just tell Adobe Bridge to do its thing. It did everything
and all I had to do was flatten it, crop it and save it.

It seems to be a workflow that might work for me as I move out into the
real world and try to see if I can make any money from shooting
weddings. I hope to have most everything done in the JPEGs, and keep the
RAW for just in case I have an image that requires heavy duty tweaking.

The fireworks are standard technique. Get a position and plant the
tripod with the camera aimed where the fireworks are supposed to appear.
Once you've confirmed you're on target just hold the shutter down while
2 or 3 bursts appear, release it and go on to the next set. As it turned
out, I was aimed about 15 deg too far to the right had to rotate a bit
to get the bursts framed.

The silhouette of the grandstand is an unexpected bonus.

Again, thanks to all for looking and for your comments.
