S100 rulez http://www.s100computers.com/My%20System%20Index%20Page.htm John is part of a group re-issuing old boards and also designing new ones. The S100 is definitely alive along with CP/M, MP/M etc. I sold my stuff for over $500 as individual boards, manuals are about to go next. Ah, yes. The S100 bus. I was writing software for a communications company, (no longer in existence AFAIK), latest hire on the team, when my desk phone rings... It's a salesdrone. He want's to have my assurance that the SSC, (a PC based product), can have a module written to support a four port MUX card, because he just sold both to a customer. My reply was the software can be written, but the MUX board is S-100 Bus, which wasn't compatible with an AT bus PC. He was insistent that I should take responsibility to make it work. I eventually told him he should take that up with the electrical engineering group. Obviously he wanted me to just say yes, to get him off the hook for selling incompatible products. I agree that it's a nice camera, sturdy although not quite as nicely finished as a Pentax. I used mine with the C-V Ultron 40mm f2 lens, as I could not find the C-V 58mm f1.4 Nokton I wanted in M42 mount, an extremely rare lens. It was a nice combination. I love the mannequins on the stairs. Seeing the m42 Super-Tak on that Voigtlander makes me wonder how different things would have been if they could have standardized on a bayonet mount when screw mount was phased out. Not Invented Here syndrom is just such a pain in the ass. I've got that lens. Haven't used it in many years (as I haven't used my spotties). One sweet lens, among my favourites. Lovely looking camera. And your usual wonderful gallery of pix. Re: GESO - Bessaflex
Pentax licensed the K mount for one dollar, a lot of smaller players in camera manufacturing took them up on it. But it was always unlikeley that their major rivals, (Minolta, Nikon, Canon, and Olympus), would. It would be sweet to be able to pick and choose among the Gems of each manufacture from the 1960's on to build a kit.
