But a lot of this is because of the hand grip; if you discount that, things look a lot closer. o The PZ-1p was *enormous* for a Pentax film body. o The K-7 is very close in size to the *ist-D, except for the depth. So if you liked the size of the *ist-D, you will probably be happy with the feel of the K-7. If you thought the *ist-D was too small, you may feel the same way about the K-7, although the restyled grip should make the K-7 feel better in the hand. o The Nikon D90 is a pretty compact camera, too. Not quite as small as the K-7, but definitely no behemoth. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Boz's pentax site at http://kmp.bdimitrov.de/bodies/K_D/index.html gives the dimensions of the K1xx bodies as 129.5 x 92.4 x 70 mm That should give you some idea. Boz also shows the dimensions of the K200D as 133.5 x 95 x 74, which doesn't quite match the numbers I gave. For completeness, the K-r dimensions are 124.5 x 96.5 x 68.5 mm -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Re: K10D-K-5 size
AFAIK K-5 is same as K-7, i.e. much smaller than a K10D. I'm just as happy with my K10D as with my buddy's K-7 even though as well as because there is a little less bulk and weight - K-7 has a better shaped battery grip, K10D is a bit steadier to handle in landscape. Personally I'm saving up for a K-5 plus D-BG4 and I'll load it with AA batteries to make it heavier. Cheers Ecke 2010/11/6 David J Brooks pentko...@gmail.com: Is it bigger, smaller, the same.?? Go for it guys Dave Ecke is correct, the K-5 is the same size as the K-7. Today Dave Parsons and I compared the K-5 to the K100D Super and they are very similar is size. If you look for the DPReview review of the K-7 they probably have side-by-side pics of it with the K20D (which is the same body as the K10D); that should tell you what you need to know. --M. -- \/\/o/\/\ -- http://WorldOfMiserere.com http://EnticingTheLight.com A Quest for Photographic Enlightenment -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
