I think the problem with ThumbsPlus is the same as some other software
experiences, that the colours come out all wrong. At least it throws a
message to that end whenever I try to have it create thumbnails from
the PEFs.
OTOH, I've been quite happy with ThumbsPlus for nearly three years for
all the other functionality provided, and would hate to change
archiving system just because they're slow at providing support for
K20D PEFs.
There's one other issue that may push me to change archive SW, though.
I'd dearly love to have an archiving solution that automatically keep
track of, and group, all _instances_ of a file. There's the PEF, the
TIFF, and the various JPEGs optimalised for different purposes, and
maybe a file optimised for printing. Another nice feature would be, as
PS elements 6 can, to group pictures belonging to a series, eg. a set
of tiles for a panorama, or a stack (DOF or HDR).

Now I use (a trial version, initially) Silkypix, which is made by the same
people who make the software, provided by Pentax for the digital cameras.
Silkypix is very clever, not too easy, but still very nice.
I blieve Phase One 4.1.1. supports K20D PEF's, unless you upgrade the
firmware. Alledgedly the new name Pentax - not Pentax Corporation is
responsible for some trouble, as far as Phase One is conserned.

solution? And no, switching to a different archive software is _not_
