I can't find any credible source to support my statement above that the MacBook Pro displays use IPS. They do use LED backlighting, however, and they are gorgeous, IMO. Bugger. You had my hopes high there for a while. LEDs are a Good Thing, though, no matter what panel is stacked before it. I got a 15 incher at Chrstmas as a present for myself, and it's gorgeous! You can get either a glossy screen or a matte screen ($50 upcharge) as you prefer. Do yourself a favor and take a look at the Mac Book Pro before you decide what to buy.
