The first is very nice. It looks empty and lonely.
We are also in lockdown mode (more or less). Highways are crowded
(without the normal traffic jams). Parks and forests are very crowded.

All very nice.  The third one, with the stop sign, grabs me the most.  I
might try cropping it up from the bottom about half way between the

Those are definitely fun. I would be tempted to take the first one, crop it to
just the shadows on the lower flight of stairs (possibly cropping out the top
stair of that flight), then rotating it to horizontal just to completely
abstract the shadows.

One suggestion - if you cropped the bottom at the cement block seam so
that the longest of the shadows

improve the geometry a lot..

Re: Late afternoon walk

2005-07-24 Thread Jim Hemenway

Hi Boris:

It's right here in the middle of the 'burbs about 8-9 miles north west
of Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

I try to walk around it every other day and it's rare that I don't bring
a camera with me.

It used to be used for swimming and motor boating but with the leukemia
problems, (John Travolta - A Civil Action) only canoeing and electric
motor boat fishing are allowed... Woburn now gets half of its water
from wells which tap into the water level just below Horn Pond instead
of from the poisoned wells on the other side of Woburn.

As a result, the Woburn Parkway on one side has been closed to vehicles
for years. It's a great place to walk and bike ride because it meanders
mostly through a forested area.
