Re: Mir 47-K 20 mm. 2.5 user's manual?
Carlos, This question appeared in PDML during the first half of 2001. Someone wrote that yes, you must use one of the filters; the filter is part of the lens formula. I have assumed that this is true. I don't have a problem on my Super Programs, so I've never felt the need to remove it. Thanks for sharing your unfortunate experience. Carlos Royo [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Is it necessary to keep one of the filters in place to get infinity focus? I have been told by a Russian member of the list that it isn't necessary, and my cameras seem to focus at infinity equally with or without a filter, but yesterday I read on a web page that a filter is needed to focus at the infinity setting. Well, if that were the case, I still would be able to use the lens on the Z-1 or SFX, although I'm trying to sell the latter. But I recall, if I'm not wrong, that the messages you quoted were about the Zenitar 16 mm. 2.8, not the Mir 47-K. As I have shot some slides without the filter, I'll take some with the filter in place and will examine the results carefully. The Russian member of the PDML I told you about uses the lens in an ME Super, without the filter, as it causes the same problem in that body, and he says the filter isn't needed for infinity focus. He even sent me an URL for me to see some of the photos he had taken with the lens, scanned with a 4000 dpi scanner. Why would you need a manual for ~any~ lens? Have some lenses gotten so complicated that a manual or instruction book is needed? Re[2]: Mir 47-K 20 mm. 2.5 user's manual?
Shel, The only complications that I have encountered are Power Zoom functions and psuedo zoom macros (switches-Sigma). Other than that, I'm with you, what would the manual tell you? My SMC-M 28mm f2.8 has a solid dot rather than the f-stop at the second position from wide open on the aperture ring. Without the manual, I would not have known that this means that instead of going f2.8, f3.5, f4, etc as most lenses do, the SMC-M 28mm f2.8 goes from f2.8 directly to f4 with no half stop between. Use of the FA lenses with power zoom/zoom clip features also requires a manual. -Aaron - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. What's a zoom clip feature? Never heard of that. One of the many strange things the power zoom lenses can do on a body with the right electrical contacts. I don't remember which one it described, but the power zoom lenses could keep an object the same size in the viewfinder as it moved, zoom during exposure for a tunnel-y movement effect, remember focus and zoom positions if you needed to quickly change from one to the other and back again (I think the example in the manual was if you were shooting a baseball game and wanted to preset zoom and focus on first and third base so you could quickly move from one to the other without fiddling)... All the more reason to cherish those SMCP lenses - just point, focus, and shoot. Yeah, but how would you know what that single unmarked click stop between f2.8 and f4.5 is? Or better yet, without looking it up, what is the click stop between f2.4 and f4 on an SMC-67 105mm f2.4? I can guess, but why guess when the information is in the manual? Mir 47-K 20 mm. 2.5 user's manual?
Hello all: Today I received the MC Mir 47-K 20 mm. 2.5 I purchased some days ago through Ebay. The user's manual comes in Russian, and I would like to know if there is a translated version, in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese,... somewhere in the Internet, or if some of you have one you could scan or photocopy for me.
