New Sigma EF-500 Flash, comments?

2005-03-08 Thread Don Sanderson
Now that those of you that bought one of the new P-TTL
Sigma flashes have had some time to play with them
what do you think?
Would you recommend one or should I go after a second
360FGZ?
I would like the two to be able to work together wirelessly
with the ist-D, any experience here?

TIA
Don

I don't know how well it will work with the 360FGZ, but it performs beautifully
with the *istD. I've tested it at high-speed synch, TTL, TTL-P, and trailing
curtain synch, and it's been great. I also used it in slave mode as a
background light with my studio flashes on that shot of my daughter that I
showed the other day. It fired consistently, when I gave it enough time to
recycle.

Thanks Paul.
I like the power, and the price is good for the features.
I've just kinda got attached to wireless, don't see why it
wouldn't work but who knows.
I'm impressed by your comment about TTL performance, the
360 is quite inconsistent at times, can't really get a handle
on what circumstances are OK and which cause it to be inaccurate.
