Looks like a cross between a Polypore, or bracket fungus (which grows on trees) and a chantarelle, which doesn't. Maybe one of the Pleurotus species, commonly known as Oyster mushrooms? Mike, I guessed Oyster or Jack O'lantern ... I have had some wonderful help off list and it was mentioned to be an Oyster Mushroom or could be the more poisonous Jack-O-Lateran mushroom. I didn't want to pick it as it was just too lovely on the tree to disturb it so I left it for other to admire if they happen upon it.
