Re: OT - Anyone having problems with the latest Flash Player Upgrade?

They're out there for Windoze too, but that's not news.

There's a Trojan horse circulating that masquerades as an Adobe Flash
update. I believe it's Mac only. i keep getting flash update notices
and just ignore them all.

G'day all

an update was available for the Flash player. Like an idiot, I installed it.

Then, when I tried viewing the video that Bruce posted ('The Boss'
thread) all I could see was a static image. Later when I tried to
view Larry's Blurb book preview, Blurb informed me that I needed a
newer version of the Flash reader. Is there a later version than
the latest version!!

So now I've tried to look at some of the You Tube links from the
June PUG and all I see is a black rectangle - no video, no sound.

Has anyone else installed the latest Flash update? Are you seeing these issues?

If you haven't installed it, I suggest you don't.

2012-06-10 Thread Brian Walters

Paul, Stan

Thanks for the feedback.

I decided to uninstall Flash Player entirely, then I downloaded an
earlier version and installed that. Things are now back to normal so
there's no doubt that the latest update of Flash Player broke things
on my system, at least. My wife also installed the latest version
this morning on her Win 7 laptop without any apparent issues, so
there's probably a conflict with something on my computer that caused
the problem. I'll be ignoring update messages for the foreseeable
future.

(PS - I'm replying to my own message here because, although I can see
Paul and Stan's reply in the archives, nothing has appeared in my
email inbox for some hours. It's been one of those mornings.)

Cheers

IIRC Paul, the last Security Update -10.7.4 - was to fix the Adobe Flash
vulnerability for Macs.

Brian, I know zilch about the Windows side, but my iMac Adobe Flash was updated
30 May, I have seen no problems. Sorry, I tried with File Info but am not
finding a version number on the update.
