2013-03-10 Thread frank theriault
Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and wishes.

My current position is as a customer service rep (nice words for
"ordertaker") and troubleshooter. Because of the "troubleshooter"
part it is a new position. I think I am well-suited for it due to my
many years as a courier; basically I will be dealing with problem
pick ups and deliveries and resolving them with our clients.

Luckily I live about ten miles or more from the office. Once the
casts are off I will by cyclo-commuting so I certainly will still be
biking. The commute by transit is a bear - I will shave of close to
an hour by biking. Of course the nice thing is that I can still
transit on bad weather days.

After one week at the new position it looks like it could be fun and
interesting.

Thanks again to everyone!

cheers,
frank

Yes, we did hear that before. I dispatched for several years and
didn't plan on being on the road again but a downturn in the economy

I believe that my current position is permanent but who knows?

Thanks for the kind thoughts!

Subject: OT - Broken Ankle Update (good news)

In for x-rays today. Ankle reduction worked as hoped. Bone healing where it
should be.

Old splint (partial cast) off. New full cast on. Still not a walking cast but
I'm getting used to
these crutches so that's ok.

More x-rays in three weeks and then a walking cast. Three weeks in a walking
cast and I should be
good to go.

Best news today: no surgery! (Yay!)

Other news: got an inside job at my courier company. Permanent. Started
yesterday.

Frank's not a bike messenger anymore.

Cheers,
frank

Good news indeed.

I guess that is good news. Probably safer physically, maybe a bit of loss of
"freedom." I hope you adapt to and grow with your new challenges!

Sounds good. Nice to hear you're healing. That inside job sounds like an
excellent health plan! You've more than paid your dues.
