OT One week to go

2010-10-22 Thread David J Brooks
Our daughter is getting married a week tomorrow.

I have to make a speech.

I have had the opening line ready for a month now.

I have writers block.

Need beer.

My daughter is now married and an independent woman. This frees up
some money for that K5, right Honey?

Dave,

Say the first line of your speech, then tear up and claim you can't
continue. Turn to your daughter, tell her you love her (through
intermittent sobs) then go hug her. Everybody will cry, clap and
comment on what a loving father you are. A few years from now they'll
all think you gave a great speech though they won't remember what you
said exactly.

And if you need something to stimulate the flow of tears and get you
started, take a look at the caterer's bill for the reception just before
you stand up. ;-D
