Thanks Frank. I could see that the buds were wet, but I didn't spot the
drop until I got down on the ground. I'm hoping the buds open today. I
was surprised the Bob already has crocuses in Chicago. Although they're
generally a few days ahead of us on spring flower blooms. I suspect
we're at least a few days ahead of Toronto. Won't be long now. The
calendar beginning of spring is only a week away.

That's just a beautiful shot, Paul. That Viv S1 has lovely bokeh,
doesn't it? As with everything else you show, the comp is terrific.
The colours are great, as is the detail. Did you actually know the
drop was accumulating there, or was that a lucky grab? It's very
nice...
I don't know about f22, though. I really like the narrow dof. It
works so well here.
Thanks for a timely, relaxing, hopeful photo.
cheers,
frank

My Snowdrops are trying to bloom, but it's quite cold today. Here's a
shot with the Vivitar Series 1 90/2.5 macro on *ist-D. It's at 1:2.

I placed a detail crop here. The reflection in the drop of water is
kind of cool. The *ist-D's sharpness and detail are quite good I
think for a handheld macro shot.

Both are f8 @ 1/90. I'll shoot these off a mini tripod when the
blossoms open. It needs f22.
