Re: PESO: 300mm f2.8 as a portrait lens

2019-05-20 Thread David Mann
Nicely done. Watching a marathon at 20 miles doesn't sound like my cup of
tea... that's about where the ugly stuff starts.

I really should get my DSLR out again. I've been using my phone to take photos
of my daughter ever since she was born because it's always there for those
spontaneous moments. I took a photo of her a few weeks ago after I'd brought
the Pentax out to shoot a couple of macros of parts that were sent to me in
error. The image had such a lovely quality. I'd forgotten what bokeh looked
like.

Cheers,
Dave

It's a good movie, more about the hunt for the bombers than about the event
itself.

Haven't seen it, but I know people who were near the finish line when
the bombs went off (they were far enough away that they only heard
them and didn't suffer any injuries). I was shooting photos at
Heartbreak Hill (around Mile 20) earlier but was out for a walk around
Jamaica Pond when the bombs went off. The first I heard about it was
when Doug Brewer called to make sure I was OK.

Excellent portrait!

"there's a huge spectator turnout"
That's an understatement.
Did you see "Patriots' Day"?
