Thanks, Frank! A complete departure for me. Glad you approve of the heavy crop.
Small birds, obviously, and hand held at about 40 ft away. A stern test for the 
FA 80-~320(at 320mm), but not a factor with this rendering.

I've been trying to figure out what to say about this image.  I like the 
composition.  A BW conversion is reasonable, but it doesn't look 
right.  The background is blown out, as are parts of the branch, and 
places on both birds feathers.  I hate to say it but it's almost good...

Only for the gritty mood. We have two well attended finch feeders in out back 
yard which have allowed me to shoot them any number of times. These are 
probably the only two who's color I'll ever change.
