Well, laces used to be relatively rotting prone cotton. These days, they're 
likely made of NASA brand, high tech, indestructible "space" fibers..or.(?) 
Probably need a cutting torch on either the laces or power line. =)

It's been pointed out that these shoes were in terrible condition.
Something I hadn't noticed, but do agree with. None the less, even if
thrown up there by the owner, the term "mischief" might still apply
due to inconveniencing whatever city utility eventually winds up
cutting them down.  ;)


If it works the way it does around here they won't get cut down. The 
laces will eventually rot and they'll fall down on their own.

I think the fact the heel is missing on the shoe on the left, and a  
chunk of rubber is missing from the toe on the one on the right might  
trump the slight wear seen.

I've seen this quite a lot. Around here it's common at the end of 
particular sports seasons - when high school football ends and when 
basketball season is over.


Maybe baseball shoes aren't really suitable for this.

The other place I used to see it a lot was around Ft. Bragg, where it 
seemed every time one of the 82nd's brigades returned from deployment, 
there'd be a pair (or more) of old worn out combat boots hanging from 
every overhead wire on post.

Yes, I messed with the lighting attempting to see a bit of the shoe soles and 
remove some glare from the uppers. Had to back off to eliminate some haloing, 
but a small amount remains.
