Re: PESO: Red Shoulder Hawks

2011-02-10 Thread Bob Sullivan
Walt,
We saw the first one sitting on a fire plug along the side of the road.
We stopped and watched for a while and #2 joined him.
They seemed to be feeding on bugs in the grass.
Regards, Bob S.

You did well in dealing with the strong back light. Not that important, but is
there a little more of the sign available?
Really nice catch, Bob!

Re: PESO: Red Shoulder Hawks

2011-02-10 Thread Bob Sullivan
Jack,
Thanks, there really isn't much more of the sign to include.
I cropped out a bunch of sky at the top, but not much sign.
The back lighting wasn't a problem until they got up against the sky.
My chance to catch these guys really made your hawk shot more impressive.
Getting a sharp bird on the wing is really special.
Regards, Bob S.

Re: PESO: Red Shoulder Hawks

2011-02-10 Thread Jack Davis
As I said, more of the sign isn't critical, but if the word Festival were
complete, it would be a slightly cleaner for me.
Appreciate your comments re my latest hawk shot. I called it a Red Tail, but
turns out it's, also, a Red-Shouldered. Awhile back I Googled bird
identification and have used the resulting site a couple times. They corrected
me, in this case.
