Another CMWC photo, so don't bother looking if guys on bikes ain't your thang.

This is Chris Freeland, Toronto messenger, leaning into a corner, with
a big mother (big by bike courier standards, anyway) Fedex Box on his
back. Fedex was the sponsor of a checkpoint, and besides, the whole
idea of the messenger race was to simulate the real world messenger
experience, and carrying these PIAs is all part of a courier's day.

As I said in an earlier post, with only a 40mm lens, I was limited in
what I could do on race day, but I'm still happy with this one:

Another great shot Frank. Good panning and background.

These games shots have an added dimension to them when you shoot them at their
own game,
meaning with the props used in real every day life.

Actually, Chris messengers about 1/2 the time on a (geared) road bike
and 1/2 the time with a fixed gear bike (with front brake). He races
on the road bike.

He also races Formula V open wheel cars.

Interesting guy...

Last time he was at the track in Shannonville (an old airport), he
managed to do a couple of practise laps on a friend's bike - don' t
know what size it was. Now he's hooked, and he wants to get whatever
licensing is required to race bikes.

So, he won't be a wimp for long! g
