Re: PESO - Wasp beetle
OK, another bug. A really well done bug, but still, another bug. However, the overall photo is wonderful! I agree with others’ comments - the composition and the lighting/shading in the background really transforms this shot into something quite special. stan > On Jul 17, 2017, at 9:04 PM, Josteinwrote: > > http://www.alunfoto.no/innhold/vepsebukk/ > > This one is a pollen eater as an adult, the larvae live under the bark on > dead twigs of various trees. Thanks Jay! I use some hardware automation too. I have a motorised macro rail that moves the camera in tiny steps, trips the shutter and stops after prescribed number of exposures. Thanks Mark! I used the Bugslabber v1.1 by Bill Eldridge. Slabs of 15 with 5 exposures' overlap. Not overly impressed with the XML file output from Bugslabber, because it claims to be UTF-8 and yet does not map the Scandinavian vowels right. Since I have all my images in a folder named "råfiler" (rawfiles), I have to edit the XML manually to make it work. I'll have a look at the slabmaker. Maybe that's better. Fred that 33L is pretty sharp.Detail is great. Looks like he's ready to run a race. Nice one Dave Brooks After dinner I was sitting out on my deck enjoying a coffee when I noticed a wasp on my wooden patio table. It was walking around a knot hole and it appeared to be chewing on the wood. I grabbed my Optio 33L, put it into maro mode and took a few shots before it flew off. Here's one of the resulting images. http://ist.uwaterloo.ca/~fwwidall/wasp.html This was cropped from the original image and then resized to 600 pixels. Looks like a very messy eater but it has a very interesting face (snout?). Hope you like it. -- Fred Widall, Email: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] URL: http://www.ist.uwaterloo.ca/~fwwidall --
