It depends. The Greek Navy now has 2 types of frigates (Dutch and
German) and they are comfortable. When I was serving 6-8 years ago,
there were also old American steamers about. They were a different
ball game.

Kostas (any more coming out of the woodwork? :-))

I just wanted to say that this is one of the most unique and interesting series
that I've seen presented here in some time, I look forward to the next
instalment, thanks for sharing it with us Markus.

Well done, Markus...
I spent some time aboard ships in the U.S. Navy, but never had to do
seaman's labor, as I was a hospital corpsman.
Nevertheless, it brings back pleasant memories.
You never forget.

and read the explanations in the quick help too.
One of the hardest jobs for a newbie deckhand is "driving the Maserati" -
grinding rust, it has to be done all the time
before you apply "Menning" - the red color" and finally the painting.
Imagine doing that for hours in the deserts of the
Suez channel pr the tropics at nearly 50 grades on hot steel for $2 per
hour! - Look at the picture to see the Maserati.
more soon... in selected Pentax theatres only
Comments are very welcome
