Re: PESO - 'A shadow of its former self'
Good shot. Like the tree trunk back ground. Lots of detail in the leaf. Thanks to all who took the time to look comment. It's blurry toward the bottom. But you knew that, right? Water? Marnie, the bluury bottom was a reason for me to post - I wanted thoughts from others on that. The blur is from a branch that was out in front of the leaf. I like the composition. You might play with the curves a bit, to tame the highlights and increase the contrast a bit. I like it, nice color and lighting. It's also a peaceful composition. I find the blur of the branch over the shadow of the leave a little distracting. It might have been better if the camera were just a touch higher, but I don't know how that would have affected other compositional elements. I'm also on this kick of leaving the middle of my photos empty so I'd crop it so that the leaf was even more in the upper right, cropping just above the upper lit branchtip intersecting the branch shadow, , and just to the right of the spur on the shadow to the right of the leaf, so the leafe, branches and shadow make a frame around an empty middle. Re: PESO - 'A shadow of its former self'
Excellent noise level and good performance from that lens. I like the concept and execution as well. I agree with Larry about the blur on the shadow, apparently caused by a foreground branch. You might just PS it out of there.
