RE: PESO - A Book and a Smile
You can take a picture of anything and anyone you want in a public place. A good place to practice would be Oxford Street, which is far too busy for people to take any notice of that sort of thing. Besides, it's so heavily monitored by CCTV it would be laughable for anyone to complain about a still camera. Bob > > A lovely shot, I really like it much. A lovely shot, I really like it much. Very well captured the moment. I would like to do street photography too, but I am always afraid of what people will do if I point my lens toward them. Also I lack the knowledge of the laws in UK according to take a photograph of a person (without his/her permission). .timber > Taken yesterday in Toronto's Kensington Market: > > http://knarfinthecity.blogspot.com/2009/03/book-and-smile.html > > Comments welcome. > > cheers, > frank > > -- > "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson > > -- > PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List > PDML@pdml.net > http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net > to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and > follow the directions. > -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

A second or two before, I got a shot of the same vendor and shopper, but both were looking away. It was ~way~ sharper, but totally uninteresting. Then I walked a few steps, looked back and saw the vendor smiling at me so I snapped. I guess in my haste I didn't hold the camera very still, because the vendor in particular is not very sharp. Oh well. Everything in life is a compromise, and I ended up choosing a more interesting subject matter over something that's technically superior. That's the way it is sometimes.
